Reyer, Carl F. (12 Apr. 1883 - 30 Dec. 1953)

Carl F. Reyer, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Reyer, passed away on December 30, 1953, at the age of seventy years. He was born on April 12, 1883, and, with the exclusion of two years of residence at Hettinger, North Dakota, homesteading a quarter section of land, spent his entire life at Colby and Cherokee.

He was married on September 19, 1913, to Della Brehm, also of Colby, Wisconsin, who survives him. In addition to his widow, he is survived by three sisters and five brothers - Edward G. Reyer and Mrs. Rose Oncken of Colby, Mrs. Fred Distelhorst of Madison, Hugo Reyer of Chevy Chase, Maryland, Harold Reyer of Wauwatosa, Mrs. Morris Rein of Wittenberg, Otis Reyer of Barrington, Illinois, and Richard Reyer of Park Falls.

Carl Reyer lived at Cherokee, Wisconsin, from 1931 to 1951 where he operated a blacksmith shop. He was obliged to retire from business in 1951 because of ill health. During the past two years he resided in Colby with his oldest brother and sister who assisted his wife in caring for him during his final illness. His many years of active service won for him a host of friends in this community.

He was a member of Colby Lodge No. 204 F. & A.M. and also a 32nd degree member of the Eau Claire Consistory.

Funeral services were conducted at the Lulloff Funeral Home Sunday afternoon under the auspices of Colby Lodge No. 204, F. & A.M. with Sherman L. Loos officiating, assisted by Rev. Richard Harrison of the First Presbyterian church of Abbotsford, Wis. Internment took place in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Pall bearers were George Carr, Harold Klessig, Henry Aderhold, Ray Brehm, Ted Baumgart and Alfred Rein. Flowers were in charge of Karla Reyer, Ilene Brehm, Patricia Brehm, Adell Brehm.
