Re: Obit: Hoeft, Gustav Frederick #2 (1849 - 1932)

Contact: Jane Clajus

Hello! I have just read the obit. of Mr. Hoeft as I was searching for the Schneidermuhl area in what I guess is now Poland. I am trying to find information from that area because I believe my grandmother was from there. Perhaps you could help me, advise or give me suggestions as to how to get more information.

My grandmother was a Dahlke who came to the U.S. via Canada in 1860. From there she and her family settled in the Ripon, Wisc. area then upon marrying into the Boettcher family, from the Cedarburg area, eventually ended farming in the Mountain, Oconto County area then purchasing a large farm along the Peshtigo River known as "Boettcher's Roaring Farm". It was located in the Silver Cliff area of Marinette County.

Would you happen to have any further information or perhaps even recognize the "Dahlke" name? I am certain that there would be records of them in an Evangelical Church list.

Your help would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

Jane Clajus, granddaughter of Mary Dahlke Boettcher
