The mother of Mrs. Alfred Burkhardt of Atwood (Green Grove, Clark Co., Wis.) passed away at hr home Friday morning, July 25th, 1941, having reached the age of 81 years, 10 months and 19 days, after a lingering illness of nine months.

She migrated to the United States from Germany in 1884, living one years in Sheboygan, Wis., then with her husband acquired a farm four miles east of Owen and four miles south, where she lived up to the time of her death.

Her husband and two children preceded her in death some time ago.

Those left to mourn her death are four sons and one daughters, John, Fred and Albert Augustine of the Town of Green Grove, Ernst Augustine of St. Paul, and Mrs. Alfred Burkhardt of this village; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Marlene Burkhardt.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 28 from her home at 1:00 o’clock, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Green Grove at 2:00 o’clock. Interment was in the church cemetery.
