Jensen, Arleen Doris (Marriage - 18 June 1955)

Arleen Doris Jensen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Jensen, was given in marriage by her father to Raymond Barts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Armin Barts at a ceremony performed in Christ Lutheran church in Abbotsford Saturday, June 18, at 1:30 P.M., Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating at the services. Mrs. Everett Denzin of Laramie, Wyo., a sister of the groom, was matron of honor and Mrs. Fred Brown of Milwaukee, a sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Everett Denzin and Fred Brown.

The bride was attired in a white strapless satin gown, waltz length, covered with two tiers of net and lace around bottom and top of gown, long sleeves coming to a point, lace jacket, satin covered buttons on sleeves and jacket. Her finger tip veil was held in place with a headpiece of pearls. Her cascade bouquet consisted of pink carnations centered with three gardenias.

The matron of honor wore a strapless yellow ballerina length dress with two tiers of net and flowered head piece and tiny veil. The bridesmaid wore a strapless blue ballerina length dress with two tiers of net, white dots on net, ruffled head piece and net stole. Their cascade bouquets consisted of white and blue carnations.

The bride’s mother wore a white and pink corsage of carnations on her turquoise dress with white carnations. The groom’s mother wore a powder blue dress with white accessories. Her corsage consisted of white and pink carnations.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents which was decorated with pink and white peonies. Supper was served at the Christ Lutheran church basement at 4:30 P.M. In the evening, a dance was held at the Whispering Pines Ballroom.

After a honeymoon in Northern Wisconsin, the couple will be at home on the groom’s farm, Abbotsford, Rt. 1.
