Schuh, Marie (Marriage - 20 Oct. 1955)

Miss Marie Schuh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schuh, and Valgene Fischer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fischer, all of Colby, Wisconsin were united in marriage last Thursday morning, at 11 o’clock in St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Wis., Rev. V. E. Schwartz officiating at the nuptial rites and was celebrant at the mass. Anthony Schuh ushered wedding guests into the church.

The bride appeared in a waltz-length satin frock with net and lace overlay. The bodice was designed with a turned-down collar and long sleeves and was attached to a ruffled skirt. The finger-tip veil fell from a tiara-type headpiece trimmed with pearls and sequins. Fern and satin ribbon loops interspersed the red roses and white mums comprising the bridal bouquet.

Mrs. Bernard Raczykowski of Unity was matron of honor for her friend and wore yellow taffeta with white net and lace overlay. The waltz-length strapless gown was topped by a bolero and completing her ensemble was a net headband.

Mrs. Raczykowski carried a bouquet of multi-colored mums as did the bridesmaid, Miss Patsy Ann Fischer of Colby, sister of the groom. Her mint green dress was designed like the matron of honor’s.

Ambrose Schuh of Colby was best man for his new brother-in-law and serving as groomsman was Walter Schuh, Milwaukee, an uncle of the bride.

A beige two-piece faille dress with black accessories and accented with a white and yellow corsage of carnations was worn by the bride’s mother. The groom’s mother donned a black and white frock with black and red accessories and her corsage also included white and yellow carnations.

Attending the nuptial rites and wedding reception, the latter held at the bride’s parents’ home, were out-of-town guests from Minneapolis, Wausau, Dorchester, Abbotsford, Milan, Unity and Rib Lake.

Following a wedding trip to Niagara Falls the Fischers will reside in Colby, where the groom is employed by the Lewis Container Co. and his wife at Clara’s Café. Both are Colby High School graduates.
