Driessen, Agnes (23 SEP 1941)

An early fall wedding was solemnized, Sept. 23, 1941, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church, Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., when Miss Agnes Driessen, daughter of Fred Driessen, Thorp, became the bride of Louis Kiraly, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kiraly, Stanley, Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiating.

The bride was charming in a white satin, pearl trimmed, princess styled gown with it’s slight train. A tiara studded with pearls held her veil and her flowers, ina round bouquet were white lilies and baby breaths.

For her attendants the bride chose Miss Irene Kiraly, sister of the groom and Miss Esther Driessen, cousin of the bride. Their dresses were faille taffeta, square-necked, with snug fitting bodice and matching flowered headbands. Miss Kiraly was attired in a blue gown, Miss Driessen in rose. Their flowers were white pom poms with pink roses and baby breaths.

Miss Marjorie Brooks, the flower girl, niece of the bride, wore a pink taffeta frock and carried a basket of white pom poms, pink roses and baby breaths.

Attending the groom were, Sylvester Driessen, brother of the bride, and Arnold Kiraly, brother of the groom. They wore dark blue suits. The groom’s boutonniere was a white gardenia, while his attendants wore white roses.

A reception was held at the bride’s home to immediate relatives and friends. In the evening a dance was given at Rock-Nee Gardens.

Those attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Brooks and family, forest Junction, Wis.; Ben Driessen, St. Charles, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Driessen and family, Ed Driessen and Mrs. Anna Vandeyaht, Kaukauna, Wis.; Mrs. John Beck, son Mike, Menasha, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Van Ells, Port Washington, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Baldeschwiler and family, Falls, Wis.; Mrs. Stanley Markowski and family, Alex Markowski, Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Driessen, Mr. and Mrs. George Vandehey, Stanley.
