Johnson, Geraldine (Marriage - 3 Sept. 1949)

On Saturday, Sept. 3, at 3:00 P.M., Miss Geraldine Johnson of Green Bay became the bride of Earl J. Pettis of that city in Grace Lutheran church. Rev. L. F. Gast, D.D., performed the double ring ceremony as she walked down the aisle on the arm of her father who gave her in marriage. She was preceded by her sisters, Mrs. Arnold Poeske as matron of honor, who was gowned in rose satin similar to that of the bride with picture hat fashioned of the same material as her gown, as were her mitts, and Mrs. LeRoy Braithwait, who wore a blue satin gown and hat exactly like the one of the matron of honor. Their bouquets consisted of blue and white and pink and white carnations, respectively. The bride was attired in an ivory satin gown with fitted bodice, lace yoke edged with handmade lace trimming inserted with pearls. Her long sleeves were pointed over the hands and down the back to below the waist with tiny white satin buttons. Her skirt was very full which ended in a train. Her fingertip nylon veil was edged with wide chantilly lace with orange blossom headdress.

The groom was attended by Wilson Miller and Kenneth Lagge.

A wedding dinner was served at Rocket restaurant at 5:00 o’clock for 30 guests.

The bride is employed as secretary by the Smith & Will law firm and the groom is a welder in Green Bay.
