Fitzel, Dorothy Mrs. (Marriage - 15 Oct. 1949)

Mrs. Dorothy Fitzel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Olson of Cherokee, and Herman Totzke of Stratford were united in marriage at St. John’s Evangelical church in the town of Wein Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock. Following the ceremony, the bride’s daughter, Diane, sang a solo and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tiegert of Oshkosh sang a duet. The couple was attended by the groom’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Totzke of Edgar.

The bride wore a brown tweed suit with green hat and gloves and a corsage of yellow roses and carnations. The matron of honor wore a navy suit and navy accessories, accented by a corsage of pink roses and carnations.

A supper was served 75 guests at the home of the bride’s parents. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at Cherokee hall.

The bride is a graduate of the Colby High School. The couple will reside on the groom’s farm in the town of Frankfort.

Relatives from away who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Feldbrugge of Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Reil and son, Bernard, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Tiegert, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Podratz, Marvin Podratz and Irma Laabs of Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. William Lau of Wausau, Miss Gloriette Olson of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schmidt and family of Marshfield. Other guests were from Red Wing, Minn., Edgar, Colby, Abbotsford and Stratford.
