Calway, Forest D. #2 (16 JAN 1880 - 20 MAY 1942)

Forest D. Calway, prominent lawyer of Neillsville and Clark County, and a member of the Clark Co., Board of Supervisors, died of a heart attack suffered while sitting in his car in front of the post office building in Neillsville while awaiting his wife at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. His death was attributed to a heart attack. He was 62 years of age.

Mr. Calway has suffered four or five heart attacks in recent months and since the last one two weeks ago he had spent most of his time at home and it was only recently that he was again getting about and mingling with his friends.

He had been a resident of the county all of his life, being born in Neillsville on Jan. 16, 1880. He attended schools in Neillsville and a Milwaukee Business college. In 1904 he became Circuit Court Reporter and two years later he became official Circuit Court Reporter. He studied law and later gained admission to the bar.

He was prominent in public life and civic doings and at various times served in the capacity of city attorney for the City of Neillsville.

Mr. Calway was well known in this section of the county and his many friends will be grieved to hear of his sudden passing. Arrangements for the funeral services will not be completed until a daughter is heard from.
