Schlinsog, Richard H. #2 (16 APR 1941 - 2 FEB 2008)

Richard H. "Dick" Schlinsog, 66, Minocqua, formerly of Marshfield, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, while ice fishing in Tomahawk. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 7937 Hwy. 51, Minocqua, from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m.

Richard H. Schlinsog was born on April 16, 1941, in Neillsville to Harry and Nelda (nee Drescher) Schlinsog. He married Patricia Morrison on July 30, 1960. She survives. He was a graduate of Loyal High School. He graduated from DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago as an electronic technician. He was a partner of K&S TV in Marshfield for many years. He and his wife moved to Lake Havasu City, Ariz., in 1988, and returned to Minocqua in 2002 to enjoy their family and retirement. He had a passion for airplanes. He was an active member of EAA where he was a chairman in pilot briefing at Air Venture in Oshkosh for many years. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, Minocqua. He has been the driving force to establish Northern Light Via de Christo in Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula. His greatest joy was his love for his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Michael (Linda) Schlinsog, Tomahawk; one daughter, Jill (Jay) Sparks, Washington, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Michael, Jr., Deonna and Kelly Schlinsog, Matthew, Derek and Cody Guldan, and Maegen and Aaron Sparks; two great grandchildren, Michael 111 and Madison; and one brother, William (Nettie) Schlinsog, Middleton.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and one brother, Ted.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church for the Organ Fund or Via de Christo Scholarship Fund, in care of Grace Lutheran Church, 108 W. Somo Ave., Tomahawk, WI 54487.
