Wachholz, Laura E. (31 July 1926 - 14 Feb. 2008)

Laura E. Wachholz

Spencer, Wis. -- Laura E. Wachholz, age 81, of the town of Spencer, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at the Hansen Funeral Home. The Rev. Daryn Bahn will officiate. Burial will be in the West Spencer Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hansen Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wachholz was born July 31, 1926, in Edgar, a daughter of Herman and Elvina (Passhel) Hoernke. Laura graduated from Edgar High School and then later received her cosmetology degree.

Laura was married to Donald Becker who preceded her in death. She was later married to Donald Wachholz who also preceded Laura in death.

Mrs. Wachholz owned and operated Laura's Beauty Shop in the town of Spencer from 1960 until 2007. There was a constant buzz of friends visiting in the beauty shop, because Laura's customers also became some of her closest friends.

Mrs. Wachholz was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Laura loved the companionship of her dog, Suzie and cat, Fluffy. She also enjoyed flower gardening and just having "a plain old good time" with friends.

She is lovingly survived by her son, James (Rebecca) Becker, town of Spencer and one grandchild, Jessica Lapp.
