Eleanor M. Aschenbrenner

Eleanor M. Aschenbrenner, age 92, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, died on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008, at Saint Joseph's Palliative Care, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Peter Manickam will officiate and music will be provided by Sacred Heart Funeral Choir.

Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery and Jeff Aschenbrenner, Jeff Rasmussen, Jay Link, Cory Schiller, Phillip Lucksted and Kerry Braun will serve as pallbearers.

The visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at Sacred Heart Church. Sacred Heart Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary service will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Aschenbrenner was born on June 29, 1915, in Colby to Carl and Minnie (Thiede) Eggebrecht. She was a 1932 graduate of McKinley High School, Marshfield. She and Ignace "Iggy" Aschenbrenner were united in marriage on Sept. 20, 1937, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He died on May 17, 1987.

After raising her family, she was employed at Wick Building Systems in Marshfield until her retirement in 1977. After their retirement, she and her husband resided on Soo Lake in Phillips. Eleanor put her family first and she truly lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Society and The Parish Council of Catholic Women, and a former Sacred Heart Choir member. She volunteered by baking for the Hospice Care Unit. While living in the Phillips area, she had given many Alzheimer's presentations.

She is survived by her children, James (Lana) Aschenbrenner of Phillips, Karen (Robert) Rasmussen, Charles (Darla) Aschenbrenner, all of Marshfield, and Susan (Darwin) Schiller of Tomahawk.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Pamela Ackerman, Jeffrey Aschenbrenner, Jenee Henning, Jeffrey (Sharon) Rasmussen, Jill (Phillip) Lucksted, Jodi (Kerry) Braun, Kelly (Scott) Anderson, Kerri (Jay) Link, and Cory (fiancee Katherine Bauer) Schiller, and 15 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Oakley (Margaret) Eggebrecht of Marshfield.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, two brothers and two sisters.

Memorials may be designated in her name to Saint Joseph's Palliative Care, Marshfield.
