Leo H. Haselberger

Leo H. Haselberger, 85, formerly of Auburndale, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Colonial Center in Colby, where he had resided since May 2005. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. The Rev. Eric Linzmaier will officiate and a nephew Michael Gonering will be a soloist. Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hewitt.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Schneider, Dennis Ertl, Charles Gonering, Gordon Earll, Kenneth Rogers and Michael Gonering.

The visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home.

Leo was born March 23, 1922, in Hewitt to F.X. "Shorty" and Amanda (Koch) Haselberger. He attended St. Joseph's Parochial School in Hewitt. He never married.

He resided with his sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Tony Ertl, living with them for 50 years. He provided a hand on their farm. After retirement he moved with them to Auburndale. For the past three years he was a resident at the Colonial Center in Colby, together with his sister, Martha. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hewitt.

He is survived by his sister, Martha Ertl of Colonial Center, Colby; a sister-in-law, Cecelia Haselberger of Marshfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Edward, Joseph, Anton and Raymond; and five sisters, Ann Heintz, Ella Schneider, Rose Gonering, Theresa Earll and Marcella Rogers.
