Smith, Adam (31 AUG 1875 - 8 JUN 1943)

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, June 10, for Adam Smith, 67, whose death occurred on Tuesday at his home in Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), following two years of failing health. H.B. Morrison of St. Paul conducted the services at the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin), and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.

He was born Aug. 31, 1875 in Tulliallan, Scotland, and one sister preceded him in death. He also had two brothers, David and John, whose whereabouts now are unknown.

On May 16, 1924, he was united in marriage to Agnes K.B. Andersen at Milwaukee, and for the past number of years have made Withee their home.

When a young man he spent 12 years in the British army, and then went to Canada, where he worked as a boilermaker and inspector for the Canadian Railways. The last eighteen years of his life was spent as a Witness For Jehovah God, and he went from door to door preaching and obeying the command in Isa to preach good tidings to the meek.
