Somers, Alma J. (18 FEB 1896 - 7 JUL 1982)

A graveside service for Alma Josephine Somers.86, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Mount Angeles Memorial Park with the Rev. Scott Culver officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Friends may call at Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Chapel from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mrs. Somers died Wednesday July 7, 1982 in Port Angeles.

She was born Feb. 18, 1896, in Thorp, Wis., to Hans and Gertrude Stigen. She married John Somers in Withee, Wis., Sept 25, 1920. Mr. Somers died in 1977. Mrs. Somers was the original owner and operator of the Bible Book Store for 19 years.She had been a Port Angeles resident for 62 years. She was a member of the Independent Bible Church.

She is survived by a son, John Somers, and daughter, Neva Somers, both of Port Angeles; a brother, Oscar Stigen of Port Angeles; a sister, Mary Porter of LaFayette, Calif.; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to a church organization of choice.
