Vera vonSchrader, 69, Tomahawk, passed away Friday, March 7, 2008, at the GoldenLiving Age Center, Tomahawk.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. John Anderson presided.
Vera was born November 9, 1938, in Milan to Elmer and Marcella Bunkelman.
She married Francis vonScharder on May 5, 1962, in Eau Claire.
Vera graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a degree in Sociology. She had worked as a social worker in Eau Claire and Wausau. She move to Tomahawk in 1976 and worked at Sacred Heart Hospital for many years and later in the clerk’s office for the city of Tomahawk.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband Francis; one daughter, Julie (Chris) Winger, Tomahawk; four sons, F. Mike vonSchrader, Tomahawk, Joseph (Dawn) vonSchrader, Rothschild, Mark (Mindy) vonSchrader, Tomahawk and John (Dauwn) vonScharder, Tomahawk; one brother Lyle Bunkelman Colby; and 12 grandchildren.
Krueger and Sons Funeral Home, Tomahawk, assisted the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials to the Northwood’s Serenity Alzheimer’s Unit at Golden Age in Tomahawk.
