Miss Olgo Woik, sister of the bride, was maid of honor; Mrs. Norman Schorer of Stevens Point acted as bridesmaid and Miss Darlene Schorer, niece of the groom, was junior bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Raymond Liepke of Owen as best man and Norman Schorer of Stevens Point as groomsman.
The bride was attired in a white slipper satin gown with high round neckline. The long sleeves ended in points over the wrists and the full skirt ended in a long train. Her fingertip veil of English illusion was caught with a beaded pearl tiara. She also wore a pearl necklace and earrings. Her bouquet consisted of white and red roses. The maid of honor wore an orchid gown fashioned with fitted bodice, high round neckline with a double row of marquisette ruffles forming an off the shoulder effect. The full gathered skirt had double ruffles encircling the skirt. A matching flowered headdress completed her attire. Her bouquet consisted of green carnations with ribbons to match her gown. The bridesmaids wore gowns identical to that of the maid of honor only in yellow and green, respectively and the bouquets consisted of carnations, orchid and yellow, respectively, with ribbons to match gowns.
Diane Schorer, a niece of the groom, as miniature bride, wore a white satin gown with lace ruffles bordering the neck yoke and encircling the full skirt. Her veil was bordered with lace and caught with a beaded crown. Her bouquet consisted of orchid, yellow and green carnations. The bride’s mother wore an aqua sheer crepe dress with white accessories and the groom’s mother wore an aqua rayon dress with white accessories. Both wore corsages of lilies of the valley and red roses.
A reception was held at the Woodland Hotel in Owen at 4:00 o’clock. The table was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake. A dance was held at Walter’s pavilion in Colby in the evening. Forty guests were present from Wausau, Hartford, Stevens Point, Medford, Colby, Abbotsford and Owen.
After a wedding trip to the southern part of the state, the couple will be at home after June 29 at 824 ½ 11th Avenue South, Wausau, where the groom is employed by the Marathon Electric.
