Ertl, Rose Bernice (Marriage - 27 Oct. 1951)

Miss Rose Bernice Ertl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ertl, and Elmer LeRoy Jewett, son of Mrs. Lue Jewett and Mr. Clyde Jewett, were married Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7:00 P.M. in Zion Ev. Lutheran church at Colby, Wis., Rev. Paul Dietz reading the marriage ceremony. Mrs. Harlynn Klake of Marshfield, the bride’s sister, was matron of honor and Miss Sharon Schultz of Racine, a friend, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by his brother, Harold Jewett of Marshfield, as best man and Everett Mossing of Madison, a friend, as groomsman.

The bride was attired in a gown of lace bodice with double sweetheart illusion neckline and satin skirt with full train. Her finger-tip illusion veil was held in place with a lace and pearl trimmed headpiece. She carried a bouquet of orchids on a white Bible with streamers to which were fastened baby mums. The matron of honor and bridesmaid wore similar gowns in gold satin and green satin, respectively, with illusion neckline and lace ruffle over shoulder with matching picture hats and gauntlets. Their bouquets consisted of white and lavender mums and white daisies.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents which was decorated with white, gold and green streamers and a three-tiered wedding cake.

The couple left on a wedding trip to Northern Minnesota and Michigan and will be at home after Nov. 4th at 1246 Blaine Blvd., Racine, Wis., where the groom is employed by the Gorton Machine Co.

Guests were from Racine, Waukesha, Pittsville, Marshfield, Stratford, Loyal, Spencer, Colby, Owen and Wausau.
