Vetterkind, Ida L. (21 FEB 1881 - 10 MAR 1943)

Mrs. Charles Vetterkind Sr., 62, of the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at the hospital at Marshfield on Wednesday, March 10th, 1943, death being caused by hardening of the liver.

Ida Louise Thiel was born on Feb. 21, 1881 in the Town of Reseburg, the daughter of Herman and Albertina Thiel (Deceased). She was united in marriage to Chas. Vetterkind on Sept. 28, 1899 at Reseburg. To this union was born nine children, six sons, Walter of New Auburn, Elmer, Charlie, Reuben, Bernard and Earl of Thorp; three daughters, Elsie Bobb, Thorp; Leona Klaar and Lila Pearsall, of Detroit, Mich., who all survived. One son and a daughter preceded her in death.

Mrs. Vetterkind was a faithful friend and neighbor and her cheerful disposition was evident to the last. Her record will be a lasting memory. Though she has departed us, she is only asleep, resting after a long and well spent life.

Also left to mourn are 2 brothers, Charlie Thiel of Arkansas, Wis., and Herman Thiel of Thorp; four sisters, Agnes Gorsegner of Theinsville, Wis., Louisa Stettler, Gotham, Wis., Amanda Buck, viola, Wis., and Seline Offord of Withee, Wis.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F.H. Sprengler at the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Reseburg on Saturday, March 13th at 1:30 p.m.

Two songs were sung by Mrs. Donald Marshall and Inez Rossman, accompanied by Marjorie Marshall, "Nearer My God To Thee" and "Under Thy Wing."

Interment took place in the nearby Reseburg Cemetery. Pallbearers were Emil Welzien, Arthur Bobb, Lester Butterfield, Percy Marshall, Chas. Wendt and Reinhold Daniels.
