Nicman, Jennie (24 JUN 1892 - 23 MAR 1943)

Mrs. Malon Nicman, 50, passed away at her home in Aberdeen, Wash., on Tuesday, March 23, 1943, after a short illness. The body was brought to Thorp last Thursday and lay instate at the Thorp Funeral Home until the time of the funeral services, which were conducted by Father Francis Piekarski, Father Joseph Rapala and Father Papierniak, at St. Hedwig’s Church at 10:00 o’clock Monday morning, April 5th.

Jennie Zukowski, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Zukowski (now deceased), was born in Poland on June 24, 1892. At the age of nine years, she came to America with her parents. She was brought up on a farm in the vicinity of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and attended the local schools. She was united in marriage on Aug. 27, 1912, to Malon Nicman. They resided at Grays Harbor from 1913 to 1918 and for three years in Wisconsin. The past 22 years she has lived in Aberdeen, Wash.

Those left to mourn are her husband and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Jarocki and Tilly Zukowski, of Thorp; five brothers, George, John, Louis and Peter of Thorp, and Frank of Chicago.

She was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s cemetery. Pallbearers were: Peter Wnek, Steve Rataiczyk, Leon Drangle, Chas. Deniszkiewicz, Frank Jasinek, Tom Polnaszek, Joe Czech and Victor Zielinski.
