Samuelson, Petra (31 Jul 1875 - 26 NOV 1943)

(West Worden Correspondent)

Mrs. Petra (Dahl) Samuelson, aged 68 years, passed away at her home in the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.) on Friday, Nov. 26, 1943. She has been a resident of this community for many years.

May 17, 1893 at Chippewa Falls, Wis., she was united in marriage to Ole Samuelson, who survived her. She also leaves a son, Selmar, who resides and home, and one daughter, Alva of Green Lake, Wis., two granddaughters, Patty and Carol Samuelson of Stanley, a brother, Norman Dahl of Stanley, a sister, Caroline Dahl of St. Paul, Minn., and a host of friends and other relatives.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. J.N. Midtlien, Monday afternoon, Nov. 29 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Stanley.

(Notes added by John Durand)

Petra Samuelson is a distant relative of mine. She was born in Norway as Petra Dahl on July 31, 1865.

Hi,

Yes, I've got egg on my face re: my earlier post to you re: Petra Samuelson [sic].
I've been doing more research on those relatives and pass on the following for you to do with as you will.
Petra was born July 31, 1875 (not 1865 as I said earlier) in Pope County, Minnesota to Nils and Ronnag Dahl.
I have a letter that Petra wrote to my grandmother (Tonette Stafne) in 1926 on the letterhead for Stanley Dairy & Warehouse Co. My grandmother and Petra were cousins. That letterhead shows that Ole, Petra's husband, was secretary of Stanley Dairy & Warehouse Co. AND THAT the correct spelling of his name was Samulson, not Samuelson.

Best regards,
John Durand
