Dudansky, Herman (5 MAR 1861 - 3 DEC 1943)

Herman Dudansky, who came to this country 59 years ago, passed away at his farm home in the Town of Withee of old age infirmities, on Friday, Dec. 3, 1943. He had reached the age of 82 years, 8 months and 28 days.

The deceased was born in Germany on March 5, 1861. After coming to America in 1884 he settled on a farm in the town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) which has always been his home. Jut a few weeks ago he had decided to retire from farming and sold his entire line of personal property at auction.

In the year 1890 he was united in marriage to Augusta Demert here. To this union was born nine children. One son, Karl, preceded him in death.

Thus passes another of the early settlers of this community, whose number is fast diminishing. We remember them as hard working and thrifty pioneers who have built Thorp and community and made it what it is today.

He leaves to mourn, his widow and one brother, Otto, of Seattle, Wash.; three sons, Otto and William of thorp and Herman of Plymouth, five daughters, Mrs. Louis (Irene) Kaczor and Mrs. Geo. (Edith) Courter of Thorp, Mrs. Walter (Hattie) Deurmeyer of Aitkin, Minn., Mrs. Geo. H. (Emma) Brown and Mrs. Alfred (Minnie) Heyman of Chicago, 23 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F.H. Sprengler at the Thorp Funeral Home on Monday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock with interment in the East Thorp Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Kriese, W. Reinke, Edward Beller, Alfred Burkhardt, Emil and John Deutschlander.
