(South Worden Correspondent0

Miss Lurene Reppert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Reppert, became the bride of Joseph Henderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Henderson, both of Stanley, in a ceremony performed by Rev. Riaden at the Brethren Church at Stanley on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 9th, 1944 at three o’clock.

The couple was attended by Dean Reppert, brother of the bride, as best man, and Gladys Christensen, as bridesmaid. Mrs. Kenneth Swope, matron of honor and cousin of the bride, was attired in blue net over satin and carried a colonial bouquet of sweet peas, roses, and pompoms.

The bride was beautiful in a gown of white slipper satin with long pointed sleeves, sweetheart neckline and fingertip veil. She wore a heart shaped locket, a gift from the groom and gold brooch worn by her grandmother on her golden wedding day. Her flowers were a colonial bouquet of gardenias and white pompoms with streamers of white ribbons and baby sweet peas.

The bridesmaid was dressed in pink chiffon with pink taffeta jacket and carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas, pink roses and white pompoms.

The groom and his attendant wore dark blue suits.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, where a six o’clock supper was served to forty-five guests.

The newlyweds will reside on the groom’s father’s farm in the town of Worden.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Holderman and grandson Earl, of Wonewoc, and Mrs. Alfred Lokken of Marshfield.
