Bowersock, Helen M. (23 DEC 1943)

The marriage of Miss Helen Maxine Bowersock, of Temple, Texas, to Cpl. Edwin F. Tessmer of McCloskey General Hospital and son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Tessmer of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), was solemnized at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 1943 in a candlelight ceremony at the home of the bride. Rev. Vernon Shaw, pastor of the Memorial Baptist Church, read the double ring ceremony.

Dressed in Royal Blue Chiffon Velvet with black accessories, the bride was given in marriage by her father. Her flowers were white orchids and she carried a lace edged handkerchief belonging to her grandmother.

A reception was held after the ceremony. The bride’s sister, Mrs. C.A. Munselle, served the three-tiered wedding cake and coffee.

Attending from out of town were the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. J.H. Lewis of Richland Springs, brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Munselle and daughter Sandra Gay of Bay City.

For going away the bride was dressed in an emerald green wool suit with brown accessories.

The bride is a graduate of W.H. Gibbons High School, of Richland Springs and is now employed in the B.G. Creamer Stage Lines offices. The bridegroom attended school at Curtiss, Wis. and Baltimore, Md. The couple will make their home in Temple for the present.
