Bird, Joe #2 (17 FEB 1882 - 17 SEP 1941)

Joe Bird, 59, passed away at his home in the Town of Weston at 5 A. M. Wednesday having been in poor health since the first of the year. In February he was taken to Rochester for treatment and on the 19th day of June underwent an operation at Marshfield returning home on the 29th day of July. Since then he has been in poor health. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon with short services at the farm home at 1:30 o’clock, followed by services at the Schiller Funeral Home. The Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Mr. Bird was born in Richland County on February 17, 1882 and was married there in 1914. He came to Clark County with his wife in 1915. Settling on their present farm in Weston at that time Surviving are his widow, a son Ernest at home, a daughter Mrs. Harold (Velma) Mortimer, York, three sisters, Mrs. Frank Kauki, Yuba, Mrs. James Patzel, Vernon, Mrs. Wenzel Landsinger, Valton and a brother James Bird, Valton.
