Snedic, John Sr. #2 (28 DEC 1879 - 18 SEP 1941)

John Snedic, Sr., was born December 28, 1879 at Krain, Jugeslaviga and arrived to America at Rockdale, Ill., near Joliet, Ill., in August 1906.

September 26, 1907 he was united in marriage to Mary Krnicar in Rockdale, Ill., where they lived eight years and moved to Willard, Wis., April 14, 1914 where they resided until his death.

His death occurred September 18, 1941 after a lingering illness for over a year with cancer at his home having reached the age of 62 years.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, John of Greenwood and Paul at home, four daughters Mrs. Louis (Ann) Horvat of Willard, Mary, Josephine, and Angela at home, three grandchildren, William James, and Mary Ann Snedic of Greenwood, and one sister Mrs. Angela Fon of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 22nd, at 10 o’clock with a Requiem High Mass at the Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard and burial was made in the parish cemetery at Willard. Rev. Fr. Raphael Stragisher officiating.

The pall bearers were Mike Artac, Joseph Bukovec, Frank Kokaly, John Gregorich, Frank Perovek, and Valentine Jeras.

The many floral offerings and the kind deeds showed how many friends he had.

The flower girls were Josephine and Pauline Francel, Sylvia Kokaly, Mrs. Wm. Boh, Dorothy Petkovsek, Christine Gregorich, Anne Champa, and Josephine Arch.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mrs. Angela Fon and daughter Helen, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Snedic 9a nephew), Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bostjancic, Mrs. F. Zupancic and son Albin, John Kamnhar and sons John, Joseph, Juhont all of Rockdale, Ill.

The Hold Family Lodge No. 136 of which he was a member attended the funeral in a body and also recited the Holy Rosary at his home.
