Stamcar, John F. (5 NOV 1914 - 7 MAR 2008)

John F. Stamcar, 93, Willard, died at the Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville, on Friday, March 7, 2008. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery. Pall bearers will be John Brezonick, Frank Brezonick, John Pegelow, Roy Gregorich, Fred Gregorich, and Roger Gregorich.

John Frank Stamcar was born on Nov. 5, 1914, in Willard, to Joseph and Rose (nee Krasovec) Stamcar. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in Willard. He farmed the family farm with his brother, Anton, until 1965. He then went to work as a carpenter for Stanley Volovsek. He married Helen H. Fillo on Oct. 3, 1970, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. He retired in 1976 and enjoyed puttering around the house with gardening, woodworking and helping others. His wife, Helen, died on Nov. 9, 2002. He continued to live in Willard until entering Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville, in September 2007. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include one sister, Ann Brezonick, Elm Grove; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Helen; two sisters, Mary Dragon and Rose Stamcar; and two brothers, Joseph and Anton.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
