Allain, Joseph H. (18 Aug. 1890 - 3 May 1953)

Funeral services were held at 9 A.M. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, Wisconsin, for Joseph H. Allain, 62, Unity, who passed away Saturday. The Rev. Frank Brickl officiated and burial was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Tony Will, Bernard Tennis, Robert and Benny Foltz, Russell Meyer, and William Schultz.

Mr. Allain, a resident here his entire life, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Winnebago State Hospital. He had been a patient there the past two weeks. Previous to that time he had been a patient at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital for several weeks.

Mr. Allain was born here August 18, 1890 and attended local schools. His marriage to Miss Alma Foltz of Wonnewoc took place in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, April 23, 1917. Mr. Allain operated a greenhouse in Unity.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Parker and Mrs. James Wilcox of Milwaukee; Mrs. Dick Fisher, Spencer; and Mrs. A. O. Kline, Aurora, Ill.; a son, Donald, Milwaukee; 8 grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Frank Van Sleet, Unity; Mrs. Ruth Daudry and Miss Cora Allain of Fond du Lac; Mrs. Anna Schroeder of Wausau and Mrs. Art Foltz, Marshfield; 3 brothers, Frank, Milwaukee; Charles, Fond du Lac and Theodore, Richland Center.

A son and a sister preceded him in death.
