Swaney, Marie (11 Sept. 1885 - 3 Oct. 1954)

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Swarthout Funeral Home in Spencer for Mrs. Marie Swaney, 69, who died Saturday afternoon at the Medford Hospital.

The Rev. Paul Mall, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Riplinger, officiated at the service and burial was made in the church cemetery at Riplinger.

Pallbearers were Albert Matson, Harry Graves, Emil Tober, Otto Kuehling, Henry Binning and Floyd Kayhart.

Mrs. Henry Binning and Mrs. Rueben Rex were in charge of the flowers.

Mrs. Swaney was born in New York September 11, 1885 and came to Clark County at the age of 5 with her parents. She was married twice, the first time to George Shigley who preceded her in death, and on March 15, 1932, to Charles Swaney at Neillsville.

Since the death of Mr. Swaney on November 22, 1953, she made her home in Medford with a daughter.

Surviving are four daughters, two sons, two sisters, 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
