Williamson, William (1884 - 24 Nov. 1955)

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church for William Williamson, 71, a pioneer of the Town of Brighton, who died at the Bethel Convalescent Home, Arpin, where he had been a patient for the past five months. He had been in ill health for six years.

The Rev. Claude Vander Stoep officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery. The body reposed at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby until the time of services.

One of the oldest members of the Brighton district, Mr. Williamson was born on the family homestead in 1884. He attended the Romeo School and later purchased from his father the home place, which he farmed until the 1940s. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife, the former Frances Gregerson, whom he married at Unity; 2 children, Mrs. Audrey Meisner and Mrs. Bernard (Flora) Eckes, both of Chicago; two stepchildren by his wife’s first marriage, Mrs. Kelly (Louise) Buetche and Everett Gregerson. One sister, Mrs. Herman (Anna) Schwantes, Colby; and 6 grand children also survive.

Preceding him in death were a son, Orin Williamson and 10 brothers and sisters.
