Kruse, Ila Rae (Marriage - 8 Dec. 1957)

Miss Ila Rae Kruse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kruse of McLeon, Nebraska, and Duane E. Meacham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe A. Meacham were united in marriage December 8, 1957 at a 7 P.M. wedding at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Randolph, Nebraska. The Rev. David Rath officiated.

The bride was given in marriage by her father before a candelabra lighted, poinsettia trimmed altar. She wore a white floor-length gown of lace and net over satin. The lace bodice was accented by a scoop neckline of small pearls and sequins and had long tapered sleeves. She wore a finger-tip veil and carried out the tradition of something old, new, borrowed and blue.

Mrs. LeRoy Dommer, Spencer, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Miss Donna Herald, McLeon, Neb., was bridesmaid. Dale Kruse, McLeon, brother of the bride, was best man and Jerrold Meacham, brother of the groom, was groomsman. Larry Kruse, McLeon and Marvin Stunkeath, McLeon, brother and cousin of the bride, were ushers and candle lighters.

A reception was held in the church parlors with 130 guests present.

The bride graduated from McLeon high school in 1954 and has been employed in Spencer. The groom graduated from the Spencer high school in 1952 and has a farm in the town of Unity.

The young couple returned Monday and will make their home on the farm on route 1, Unity.
