Johnson, Mr./Mrs. Albert (60th Anniv. - 14 May 1958)

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Johnson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at their home Wednesday, May 14th by having open house and receiving their guests. A dinner was served in their honor Sunday at the home of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Johnson. Mrs. John Johnson was their only child.

They were married 60 years ago in Chicago and came to Wisconsin in 1905 and settled on a farm a few miles from the village.

They farmed until 1945 when they purchased a home and moved to the village. They have one daughter, five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson is 85 and Mr. Johnson is 87. They live alone and get along nicely. The great-grandchildren presented them with a beautifully decorated wedding cake.

They received many gifts of money as well as other gifts.

Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kruse and daughters, Mrs. Joe Lynch, Mrs. Helen McCarthy, Chicago; Mrs. Herman Uecker, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rinn and David of Whitewater; Mrs. Peter Pevonka, Fifield; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Boer and sons, Marshfield; the Harold Hederer family, Colby; the Walter Johnson family, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Dallman and Dennis, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Anderson, Spencer; and the Corwin Dallman’s, Leo Bloom’s, Melvin Ayers, Ed Melander’s, Alfred Johnson’s and a host of other friends from Unity.
