Loughead, Rae Ann (Marriage - 24 June 1961)

Miss Rae Ann Loughead, Unity, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Loughead, Unity, and Eldon Bechler, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bechler, Spencer, were married Saturday, June 24, at a 7 o’clock ceremony in the Unity Methodist Church. The Rev. Ralph Koelemay officiated and Mrs. Rodney Fuller sang "I Promise You" and "O Perfect Love."

The bride wore a ballerina-length gown of Chantilly lace over taffeta. It was fashioned with a fitted bodice ending in a V, Sabrina neckline trimmed with sequins, long sleeves coming to a point at the wrists, and a skirt featuring a pleated nylon tulle front panel edged in lace. Her bouquet of pink carnations was centered with a white orchid.

Maid of honor was Miss Lou Ellen Loughead, Unity, and bridesmaid was Miss Patricia Danner, of Chicago, Ill. Ballerina-length gowns were worn by both attendants. They were sleeveless and featured draped V necklines, full skirts, and trimmed with pearls and they carried wicker baskets of pink carnations, daisies and chrysanthemums.

The groom’s attendants were Richard Simonson, Loyal, best man, and Jerry Loughead, Unity, groomsman. Tom Loughead, Black River Falls, and Wendell Summers, Unity, ushered.

The bride is a graduate of Colby High School and of Wausau Technical School. She has been employed as a private secretary for Filter Queen Sales, Wausau.

The groom graduated from Spencer High School and served in the Marine Corps. He is presently employed at Collins Radio Company, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the young couple will make their home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
