Hoops, Herbert (4 Aug. 1897 - 1 Jan. 1971)

Herbert (Happy) Hoops, 73, of Fond du Lac, and a former Spencer, Wisconsin resident, died January 1 of a lingering illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m., January 5, in a Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac, and an afternoon burial was made in the West Spencer cemetery.

Mr. Hoops had worked as a baggage-man for the Soo Line Railroad, but was retired.

Herbert Hoops was born August 4, 1897. He was married in October of 1925, to Bernice Callery, in Sebeca, Minnesota. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert and David, both of Fond du Lac; 7 grandchildren; two brothers, Martin and Ervin, both of Spencer; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Graham, Sycamore, Illinois; Mrs. Frank Marten, Freemont; and Mrs. Lela Molle, Loyal.
