O’Connor, Constance (22 AUG 1944)

A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated at the Sacred Heart Church, Rosalie, Australia, on Tuesday, Aug. 22nd, 1944, when the marriage of Cpl. Melvin J. Boardman, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Boardman of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Constance Teresa O’Connor, younger daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C.D. O’Connor, was solemnized.

The bride, who was given away by a most intimate family friend, Mr. M. Byrnes, was attired in a blue flat crepe street length frock and wore a chic blue felt hat, which was tied becomingly with blue tulle and black velvet ribbon bows. She wore black gloves and shoes and carried a black handbag. A shoulder spray of deep red roses completed her outfit.

She was attended by her sister, Nell, who wore brown accessories with her pink crepe frock and pink felt pompom hat trimmed with tulle. Her shoulder spray was of lavender orchids and pink geralton wax.

The groom, attired in the uniform of the U.S. Army, was attended by Mr. W. Ries, a mutual friend of the bride and groom.

The reception, which was held at Belle Vue Hotel, was attended only by relatives and very intimate friends of the bride and groom.

On leaving for the honeymoon, which was spent at Greenmount, Coolangatta, the bride wore a fawn tailored costume, with brown accessories.
