Vetterkind, Lorraine (8 AUG 1945)

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.) on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 8th, 1945 at two o’clock when Miss Lorraine Vetterkind of Thorp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Vetterkind of Island Lake, became the bride of Earl Baehr, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Baehr of Withee. Before an altar that was appropriately decorated for the occasion with bastes of gladioli and ferns, the ceremony was performed by the Rev. F.H. Sprengler of Thorp, Wis.

Mrs. Donald Marshall sang "Sweeter as the Year Go By: and "I Love You Truly", and was accompanied at the organ by Miss Gladys Bobb, cousin of the bride, who also played the wedding marches.

The bride was given in marriage by her father and was beautifully attired in a gown of white chiffon over taffeta with a lace top. The gown was fashioned with satin buttons down the front to the waist, with long pointed sleeves and a long train. Her long tulle veil edged in lace was held in place with a headdress of orange blossoms. She wore a gold locket, a gift of the groom. She carried a bouquet consisting of gardenias, white roses and carnations.

The bride was attended by Mrs. Gertrude Radamacher, sister of the groom, who wore a gown of pink net over taffeta, and Miss Marjorie Vetterkind of Island Lake, sister of the bride, wore pink silk. Both attendants wore a pink blusher and a crown of sweet peas. They each wore a plain gold locket and had identical corsages of pink carnations and white roses.

The groom wore a blue gabardine suit and a white rose boutonniere. He was attended by his brother, Vernon Baehr, and Earl Vetterkind, uncle of the bride, they each wore a blue suit and a white carnations boutonniere.

Both the bride’s and the groom’s mothers wore shoulder corsages of mixed flowers.

A seven o’clock reception was held for the bridal party and immediate relatives at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Offord, uncle and aunt of the bride.

A shower and wedding dance was held that evening at Mileaway Pavilion.

The groom is engaged in farming and they will reside at the home of his parents.

The young couple has the best wishes of a host of friends and relatives for a happy and blissful married life.

Out of town relatives attending the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Knoppel, Elmwood Park, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pearsall and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Klaar and family, all of Detroit, Mich.
