Rogalski, Leona (5 SEP 1945)

A very pretty event took place at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at nine o’clock Wednesday morning, Sept. 5th, 1945 when Father F. Piekarski united in the holy bonds of matrimony, Sgt. Walter Latawiec, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Latawiec of Chicago, and Leona, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Rogalski of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, who was given in Marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of satin and lace, with sweetheart neckline and long sleeves and train. She wore a long veil and her neck was adorned with a gold cross, the gift of the groom. Her wedding bouquet was of white roses and gladiola.

The couple was attended by Raymond Rogalski as best man and Jean Meyers, bridesmaid, who wore yellow, with lace top and net skirt. She wore a pearl necklace, a gift of her sister, the bride.

The second attending couple was Henry Rogalski, the bride’s cousin and Hattie Rogalski, sister of the bride with lace top and net skirt and wore a gold locket, the bride’s gift. Both bridesmaids carried bouquets of yellow and white gladioli and yellow roses.

The groom was married in his U.S. Army uniform and his attendants wore suits of brown. All wore white rose boutonnieres.

A reception to the happy couple was held at the home of the bride’s parents, after the ceremony and a dance was given at the Mileaway Pavilion in the evening.

After a wedding trip to Washington the newlyweds will return to Chicago, where they expect to make their future home.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Jean Meyers, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Varecha and daughter Mayme and son Freddie, and Mrs. John Dolbn, of Chicago.
