Yager, Frank (2 MAY 1859 - 15 JAN 1946)

Frank Yager, 87, died at the Becker Hotel, where he has been residing for some time, on Tuesday, Jan. 15th, 1945, of old age infirmities. His son, Joseph of Gilman, was at his bedside when he passed away.

Mr. Yager is a retied farmer. The body lies in state at the Thorp Funeral Home, but funeral arrangements have not as yet been completed.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Geo. Fisher of Hannibal, at the Thorp Funeral Home at 2:00 o’clock Friday afternoon, Jan. 18th for Frank Yager, retired farmer, who passed away of old age infirmities here (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) on Jan. 15, 1946. He had reached the age of 87 years and 8 months.

Mr. Yager was born in Kladno, Czechoslovakia on May 2nd, 1859. In 1886 he came to America and located near Thorp, where he worked in the lumber mills, later purchasing a piece of land three miles north of the village.

He returned to Czechoslovakia in 1890, but came back to Thorp two years later. In that year he was united in marriage to Anna Pachecka of Czechoslovakia. They resided on the farm until 1926 when Mrs. Yager passed away and Mr. Yager moved to the village.

He is survived by four sons, Joseph and Carl of Gilman, Ed of Waupun, Wis., and Frank of Cicero, Ill.; one daughter, Anna, Mrs. John Kinas of Phillips, Wis., 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Burial was made in the East Thorp Cemetery. The following served as pallbearers: Andrew Kubera, Alvin Kubera, Walter Terlikowski, Jos. Kinas, guy Mallo and Isaac Sisco.
