Baehr, Augusta (2 AUG 1862 - 17 FEB 1946)

Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock at St. John’s Church at Withee for Mrs. Augusta Baehr, 83, who died in her sleep Sunday, Feb. 17, 1946. burial was made at Riverside Cemetery and the Rev. Walter Schedler was in charge of the service.

Pallbearers, all grandsons, were: Kenneth, Norman, Elmer and Earl Baehr, Howard Rabska, and Eldon Zasoba. Romilda and Elaine Baehr, Ina Miller and Anita Nevela all granddaughters, carried flowers.

Mrs. Baehr, the former Augusta Maria Westphal, was born in Germany Aug. 2, 1862, and came to America July 5, 1883, settling in Dorchester with her parents. On March 14, 1886, she married Carl Baehr, Dorchester, who died 3 years ago.

On March 17, 1886, Mr. and Mrs. Baehr moved to a farm in the Town of Hixon (Clark Co., Wis.), where she had resided since. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Clara Zasoba, Mrs. Emma Rabska, and George and Harry Baehr, all of Withee. Three brothers and two sisters, Albert f Their River Falls, Minn., August of Milan and William of Abbotsford; Johanna Bothke of Rice Lake and Emma Nothbohm of Owen; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Those from out of town at the funeral were: Arthur H. Baehr and family, Herbert Baehr, Mrs. Walter Baehr and Mrs. Elva Wilhelmi, all of Dorchester; William Westphal, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Westphal and Mrs. Roy Baramucker, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Westphal, Milan; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pudlas, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Krueger, and Mrs. Amelia Nietsch, Curtiss; Mrs. Geo. Beckman and Norbert Baehr, Eau Claire; Romilda Baehr, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rabska, Hayward; Mrs. Johanna Bothke, and Mrs. Carl Winkel, Rice Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Beckman, Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. George Poppe, Mrs. Hubert Horn and Mrs. Theo. Braun, Greenwood.
