Anderson, Marion (Marriage - 29 Mar. 1945)

On Thursday, March 29, at 4 p.m., Miss Marion Anderson of Black River Falls, and Daryl Wittke, G.M. 3/c of the U.S. navy, were united in marriage at the Lutheran parsonage in Black River Falls, the Rev. Mr. Huss officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Anderson of Black River Falls, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wittke, Neillsville.

Attendants were Dollie Owen, aunt of the bride, and Roger House, a close friend. The bride wore a navy blue street length dress. She and her attendant had red, white and blue corsages. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents for close relatives.

Both the bride and groom were graduated from high school in 1940. Since graduating the bride has been employed in the AAA office in Black River Falls, and will continue her work there for a short time. She will then go to San Diego, Cal., to be with her husband, who will attend advanced gunner’s school there.

The groom enlisted in the navy after graduation, has served one term of enlistment, and has signed up for another term. He has been in the southwest Pacific war theater for about one and a half years, and has been at home on a 30-day leave. He left Sunday for San Diego, his wife remaining at the home of her parents.
