Cole, Marian (Marriage - 28 Apr. 1945)

The Immanuel Evangelical church of Chili was the scene on Saturday afternoon, April 28, of the marriage of Miss **Marion Cole, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cole, Chili, and Chester Meissner, also of Chili. The Rev. S. A. Gutknecht was the officiating pastor.

Miss Jeanette Beaver of Marshfield was maid of honor. Mrs. Mark Rudy, Marshfield, and Miss Astyre Hammer of Appleton served as bridesmaids. The bride wore a white formal gown of duchess satin, and a finger tip veil attached to a tiara of rhinestones and seed pearls. Little Miss Betty Jane Meissner, sister of the groom, was the flower girl, and the cousin, Edward Grobe, was the ring bearer.

Pfc. Donald Cole of the army air corps, brother of the bride, was best man. A brother, Norman Meissner and Herman Beilke of the U.S. naval air reserve, cousin of the bride, also attended the groom. Robert Prust and Vernon Lindow were ushers.

About 100 guests attended a dinner and reception at 5 p.m., at the home of the groom’s parents. The house was decorated with pink and white streamers and white wedding bells. A wedding cake with a miniature bride and groom centered the bridal table. After June 1, the couple will be at home on the farm of the groom’s parents near Chili. A wedding dance was held in the evening at Marshfield.

Both the bride and groom are graduates of the Marshfield high school, and the bride also attended Central State Teachers’ college. She has taught in Clark county the past three years. The groom has been engaged in farming. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Meissner of Neillsville attended the wedding and reception.
