Frank J. Zickert, 74, died July 12 at home of his son in the town of Weston. He had been in failing health for several years, but was confined to his bed only a few days. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran Church, proceeded by brief services at the Jaster Funeral Home, and was conducted by the Rev. William A. Baumann. Burial took place in the Neillsville Cemetery.

Mr. Zickert was born on March 31, 18970, at Watertown, where he grew to manhood, and received his education. He was the son of Christ and Mary Zickert, both of whom, with seven brothers and sister, preceded him in death. He was married to Emelia Schoenherr at Watertown in 1892. They resided on a farm near Watertown until 1901, when they came to Clark County and purchased the farm home in the town of Weston where he died last Wednesday.

In 1920, Mr. and Mrs. Zickert turned their farm over to their son and came to Neillsville, living here about seven years. While living here he served the city as street commissioner. They returned to the town of Weston, where they lived until August, 1942, when they went to Owen to live with their daughter, Mrs. T. C. Schlinkert. Mr. and Mrs. Zickert were on a visit at the home of their son when he became ill.

He was a member of St. John’s Church, and had served the town of Weston for a numbers of years as supervisor. He was held in the highest esteem among his neighbors and friends.

Surviving are Mrs. Zickert and their four children: Clara, Mrs. William Diercks, and Hattie, Mrs. Frank, on the home farm, and William Roehl, town of York, Ella, Mrs. T. C. Schlinkert, Neillsville. There are nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, R. A. Zickert Waupun, and Ben Zickert, Beloit.

Pallbearers were six grandchildren: Franklin Zickert, Herbert Schlinkert, Clifford Roehl, Eldon Wiesjohn, Walter Sieboldt and Len Drescher. Three granddaughters, Marie Diericks, Arlene Zickert and Bernadine Schlinkert took charge of the flowers.
