Curtin, Elayne (Marriage - 22 July 1944)

The Corpus Chrial Catholic Church of Bakerville was the scene on July 22, at 9 a.m., of the marriage of Miss Elayne Curtin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Curtin, Granton, Rt. 2, and Kenneth Hess, Milwaukee, son of Mr. and Mr. Frank Hess, West Allis. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Arthur Cramer, pastor.

The bride was attired in a white lace dress with a train, and she carried a Colonial bouquet. Her matron of honor, Mrs. Lawrence Jonas, wore pink. The bridesmaids, Miss "Hank" Curtin, Miss Mae Curtin, Miss Dorothy Dalton and Miss Mae Zube, wore dressed of blue, yellow, orchid and blue, respectively.

Mrs. Patricia Curtin, sister of the bride, as mock bride, wore a white gown with train, and also wore a veil. She carried flowers similar to those of the bride.

Gene Cattanach, as a miniature groom, was dressed in a blue suit.

The groom was attended by Lawrence Jonas. Ushers were Jack Curtin, Granton, Donald Schmidt, Milwaukee and Jerome Curtin and Alfred Bauer, Marshfield.

A reception for 75 guests was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The house was decorated with white, pink, blue, yellow and orchid streamers, and a white bell. Later a reception was held at the Bakerville dance hall.

The bride is a graduate of the Marshfield High School, and has been employed as a crane operator at Allis Chalmers. The groom, who attended Milwaukee schools, is employed as a truck drive. The couple will reside after August 1, at 2428 E. Belleview Place, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
