Baldeschwiler, Bertelle C. (29 JUN 1946)

On June 29, 1946, the Church of the Ascension, Minneapolis, Minn., was the scene of the beautiful marriage of Bertelle Cecelia Baldeschwiler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Baldeschwiler, 2700 James Av. No., Minneapolis, Minn., and John J. Bauernfeind, son of Mrs. Theresa Bauernfeind of Chippewa Falls, formerly of this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was beautifully attired in a floor length gown of chantilly lace and satin. It’s bodice of lace ended in a short frilly peplum, over an amply cut skirt of heavy white satin ending in a long train. Her gown was charmingly accented with sleeves traditionally pointed at the wrists, and tiny satin covered buttons down the back of the waist.

She wore with her gown, a single stand of genuine pearls, presented her preceding the ceremony by the groom, and carried a pearl rosary, a gift of her sister, Sister M. Joselyn, O.S.B.

Her lovely fingertip veil of illusion net fell gracefully from a scalloped crown of white pearl embroidered satin.

She carried a shower bouquet consisting of white roses, carnations, baby breath and quaint bunches of sweet peas streaming from satin baby ribbon ending in tiny bow-knots.

Kathryne Jeanne Baldeschwiler, maid of honor and sister of the bride, was gowned in ice-blue net over taffeta.

The bride chose as bridesmaid, Miss Dorothy Fitzl of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her gown was of frosted pink net over taffeta with ice blue net ruffles and fashioned identically whit that of the maid of honor. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink carnations and baby breath.

The groom chose as his attendants, Melvin L. Kuhn, Bkr., 3c, Wold Chamberlain Field, Minneapolis. The groom and his attendants wore white coats and dark trousers and boutonnieres of white carnations.

The bride’s mother wore a gown of grey French crepe with rose satin hat and bag, and a corsage of pink roses and sweet peas.

The groom’s mother was attired in a navy blue Bemberg sheer dress with white accessories and an identical corsage.

A wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s aunt and uncle, Captain and Mrs. Daniel P. Noonan, to the bridal party and immediate families.

Out of town guests were: Mrs. Theresa Bauernfeind, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bauernfeind, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Baldeschwiler, of Thorp; Miss Dido Overgard of Stanley; Miss Pearl Malm of Alexandria, Minn.; and Sister M. Joselyn and Sister M. Eustelle of Duluth.

Mrs. Bauernfeind is a graduate of the Stanley High School with the class of 1941. She attended the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, where she was a member of the Delta Rho Sorority, and graduated from Miss Woods Training School in Minneapolis. After the completion of her course, she was engaged as kindergarten teacher at Medford.

Mr. Bauernfeind is a graduate of the Thorp High School with the class of 1941. He served three years with the Ninth Air Force.

When Mr. and Mrs. Bauernfeind return from their honeymoon they will be at home at 723 10th Ave, S.E. Minneapolis, Minn.
