Funeral rites were held for Wm. Jas. Devine of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) last Friday morning at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Owen. Devine drowned in the Black river, Wednesday. The Rev. Francis J. Brockman officiated at the Requiem High Mass and burial took place in Riverside Cemetery.

William, son of James and Ida Devine, was born March 25, 1927, at Owen, and attended Owen High School. He was active in sports, having been an accomplished softball pitcher. He also played football.

Surviving are his parents and 12 brothers and sisters, bob, Peter, Herbert, Tommy, teddy, David, Pat, Mickey, Danny, Theresa, Janice, Marilyn, and Kathleen.
