COLBY -- YeVonnie Plantico, 76, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Pending services are at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North Green Grove, rural Colby, Wis. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Maurina/Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

YeVonnie Marie Plantico

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- YeVonnie Marie Plantico, formerly of Owen, died Monday, May 12, 2008, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winson-Salem, N.C.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service time Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of North Green Grove of Colby, Wis. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with local arrangements.

She was born Oct. 13, 1931, in Loyal to Irvin and Jessie (Castner) Mengel. She married Leo Edward Plantico at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee on Nov. 12, 1949. They farmed in Owen for 22 years, retiring in 1977. YeVonnie then worked in the laundry department at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield and retired in 1996. After her husband's death in July 1999, she returned to work part-time at the hospital and retired in 2001. She moved to North Carolina in 2007 to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Gilbert) Calley, Lexington, N.C., and Sherry Zdun, Arbor Vitae; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Alice Heckel, Marshfield.
