Schuerman, Samuel (3 Aug. 1896 - 16 Jan. 1945)

Samuel Schuerman, aged 48 years, of Granton R3, died at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, at the Neillsville hospital, after an illness of about ten months. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 21, at Portland, Wis., at the Lutheran church, the pastor, Rev. C. W. Sigler, conducting the services. Burial took place in the Lutheran cemetery at Portland.

Mr. Schuerman was born on August 3, 1896, at Otis, Kansas. He later came to Wisconsin with his parents, and was engaged in farming at Portland and Cataract, Wis. On June 19, 1929, he was married at Sparta to Heartha Augusta Luek, who survives him. In September, 1943, they came to Clark county, and purchased a farm near Cannonville, where they have since resided.

Other surviving relatives are his mother, Mrs. Katherine Krumm of Cataract; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Mary Janes, Cataract; Mrs. Ida Anderson, Richland Center. His father and two sisters are deceased.

Mrs. Schuerman’s mother, Mrs. Luek, who resides with her, accompanied her to Portland for the funeral services on Sunday. Arrangements were in charge of the Schiller-Terhune funeral home. Mr. Terhune drove to Portland on Sunday.
