Sisco, Amos N. (26 OCT 1872 - 7 DEC 1946)

Amos Nelson Sisco, 74, a resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) since 1905, passed away at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, Saturday, Dec. 7th, 1946, after a two week illness. He had been residing with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Sisco, there for the past six months.

Mr. Sisco was born in the Town of Auburn, Fond du Lac Co., Wis., on Oct. 26, 1872, the son of Belding and Elizabeth Sisco. He was married to Miss Anna Terlinden. The couple lived for a year in the Town of Lamartine and then moved to Grand Meadow, Minn. They came to Thorp in 1905.

Mr. Sisco was a member of Camp 79, Sons of Veterans of Thorp.

Mr. Sisco operated a tree nursery and truck farm on his tract of land just outside the east Thorp City limits, which he sold soon after the death of Mrs. Sisco on Mar. 10, 1941.

Surviving are four brothers, William and Andrew of Fond du Lac, Wis., George of Port Edwards and Isaac of Thorp, and four sisters, Mrs. Janet Wolf of Fond du Lac, Mrs. Earl Heigel of Oneida, Mrs. Mary Frost, Town of Lamartine, and Mrs. Abbie Proctor of Fond du Lac.

Funeral services were held at two p.m. Monday at Candlish Chapel, Fond du Lac, the Rev. Ben C. Plopper officiating. Burial was made in Rienzi Cemetery there. Pallbearers were: Roland Wolf, Edgar Wolf, Richard and Lawrence Towne.

Those attending the services from away were: Isaac Sisco, Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. George Sisco and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Sisco, Port Edwards; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Heigel, Oneida; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Frost, beaver Dam; Mr. and Mrs. Will Tullet, Luke Tullet, and Mrs. George Peterson, Ripon, and Miss Bertha Peterson, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
