Weiland, Edwin O. Sr. (March 10, 1929 - May 2, 2008)

Edwin Weiland, Sr., 79, Colby, died Friday, May 2, 2008 at his home in the Town of Frankfort.

The visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm at Emmanuel Lutheran Church and on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until service time at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2008 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, March Rapids. Rev. Thomas Haar will preside. Burial will take place in Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, March Rapids.

Edwin was born in March 10, 1929, in the Town of Wein, Marathon County to Arthur and Matilda (Kromrie) Weiland.

He married Lorraine Diers on February 6, 1951 in Wirtzburg. Edwin had farmed in the Town of Frankfurt.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Lorraine; one daughter, Susan (Thomas) Lindau, Colby; five sons, Richard (Kristi) Weiland, Colby, Edwin (Gloria) Weiland, Jr., Stratford, Gary (Peggy) Weiland, Fenwood, Jeffery Weiland, Colby and Loren (Patricia) Weiland, Colby: 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Edgar Weiland, Avalon; and three sisters, Esther Lee, Clinton, Elnora (Raymond) Landwehr, Stratford and Delores (Keith) Krenz, Lindsay.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandson; five brothers and two sisters.

Sauter - Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
