Buchsteiner, Lorraine (Marriage - 26 Aug. 1945)

In a candlelight service performed at St. John’s Lutheran church on Sunday, August 26 at four o’clock, Miss Lorraine Buchsteiner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Buchsteiner of Neillsville, became the bride of Thomas A. Flynn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Flynn of Neillsville. The double-ring ceremony was read by the Rev. William A. Baumann before a group of some 50 guests. Mixed flower bouquets decorated the church.

For her wedding, the bride chose a white ninon gown with lace insets and a short veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of roses. Her maid of honor, Miss Deloris Milton, a close friend, wore a pink taffeta and net gown. The bridesmaids, Miss Betty Zimmerman and Mrs. William Lowe, also close friends, wore similar dresses of blue and yellow, respectively. The attendants all wore hair corsages of mixed flowers. The groom was attended by William Buchsteiner, Jr., brother of the bride, and Harry McIntyre and William Lowe, friends.

A wedding reception for 50 guests was held at the Merchants hotel just after the ceremony. The dining room was decorated with candles, flowers and colored crepe paper.

Music at the wedding ceremony was furnished by Miss Vona Reed, who sang, "O Perfect Love."

Mr. and Mrs. Flynn left immediately for the northern part of the state for a 10-day wedding trip. The bride’s going-away outfit was a grey suit with black accessories.

Mrs. Flynn was graduated from the Neillsville high school with the class of 1941, and she has since been employed at the Lewerenz Sweet Shop, the Allis Chalmers plant in Milwaukee for two years, and just lately at the Farmers Store Co. The groom was a member of the graduating class of the Neillsville high school in 1940 and has served with the army since that year. He left with the Service company in October, 1940, and saw action in Australia, New Guinea and the Philippines. He plans to attend Ripon college this fall.
